What is Social Learning? Interviews From The 2011 Enterprise 2.0 Conference

Last November, the Knoodle team attended the Enterprise 2.0 Conference in Santa Clara. The overarching theme of the conference was about "Building Social Business", so we thought we'd interview some of the attendees at the event and ask what they think "social learning" is.

Keep in mind that most of the attendees are not the "professional trainer" types (i.e., people with instructional design, HR, organizational development, learning or training in their titles) who may be more familiar with the term "social learning". Check out our video interviews below.

Live Training, Self-Paced Learning, & Blended Learning: What is Right for My Organization?

Determining the right e-learning and training method for your organization isn’t easy, especially for those who are just getting started with their online training program. With so many different terms floating out there – “asynchronous” vs. “synchronous,” “instructor-led” vs. “self-paced,” for example (see ASTD’s E-Learning Glossary) – it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Nevertheless, don’t panic! To clarify these terms and help you choose what is right for your organization, we will examine three models of learning and training – live training, self-paced learning, and blended learning.

Mentoring: Who holds the knowledge within your organization?

In every company there is a person or two that employees are drawn to when they have a knowledge or skill gap. They are the people who pass on the motivations behind previous decisions or share the value of certain best practices within an organization. They play the role of mentors, historians, or change agents and their insights are sought from cubicle to cubicle, mentioned at the water-cooler, and scratched on post-it-notes beside computers. But their importance is often overlooked and underestimated by an organization’s leadership.

New Release: More Content, More Social, More Rapid

Knoodle Home Screen

Hi everyone - we're really excited about our latest release, which is going live later today. We've been working hard to make Knoodle more intuitive and easier to use so you get more done in less time, and we think you're going to love the updates we've got for you.

At the heart of the new release is a completely redesigned content creation workflow. We've now put all the tools to build Presentations on Knoodle right on the homepage, and cut the number of steps between uploading content and publishing Presentations in half. We've also built a number of new tools to make synchronizing your slides with the timeline and with your media significantly easier, including automatically syncing slide-only Presentations, adding drag & drop capabilities to change the order of the slides, and a more intuitive UI to make content management, editing and synchronization simpler than ever. Lastly, we've incorporated a much-requested Preview function so that you can check your work before you publish and see your Presentations exactly as your audience will see them to make sure the end result is exactly as you want it to be.
